What is the age of consent i hear you ask!
Well the age of consent is the age at which you can legally consent (agree) to sex, under this age you are deemed not mature enough to be able to say yes to having sex with someone.
The age of consent will also vary from place to place, in the UK it is 16 years old, however in America it can vary from state to state. Also some countries have different ages for girls and boys.
What if i am under the age of consent?
If you are under the age of consent, by law you cannot legally say yes to sex, well anyone can say yes, however if you went on to have sex then it would not count as consensual which means that the person you do it with could well be arrested and charged with statutory rape.
Sex before the age of consent
Legally you cannot agree to have sex before you reach the age of consent, if you are old enough and the person you choose to have sex with is not then you risk being arrested for statutory rape, even if you both agree that you want sex and are ready for it and even if both your parents allow it, if either of you are under age you are running a risk.

OMG. so maybe the age of consent is okay it has its negative and positives, positives you shouldnt have sex super young, but being able to consider it rape if you are willing!
what is up with that.
personally, i was only 14 when i first had sex. BUT the i did it with was my boyfriend and my first love. the ONLY reason i did it with him was becuase I knew that i could trust him and that i DO love him.
you should have sex for the right reasons, not becuase you simply want too.
well basically the law says that your not mature enough to make the choice yourself.
